The word nool itself was created to represent its purpose – the “n” stands for numeracy, the infinity symbol “oo” represents life-long learning and the “l” for literacy. nool offers a variety of video tutorials, tip sheets, interactive tools and resources in foundational math, academic writing and study strategies.

nool was launched in 2009 as an open, online learning resource for first-year, first-generation students. Today it continues to provide open-access academic resources to anyone that wishes to strengthen their academic skills.
